We offer a variety of services ranging from large-scale, multi-process installations to small objects and interactive electronics. Artists receive support at every stage of the production process from concept renderings and planning, through fabrication and installation.

Our capabilities include:

PROJECT PLANNING & ENGINEERING
Powerhouse can develop sketches and concepts into engineering plans and technical drawings. We work with a wide range of software and engineering tools and can generate concept renderings and 3D models, as well as source materials and processes that fit the needs of a project.

CNC ROUTING AND DIGITAL FABRICATION
Among our list of equipment is a specialized industrial CNC router capable of processing 5’ x 10’ sheets of material, including plywood, aluminum, steel, textiles, foams, and rubbers, as well as complex 3D forms using its 4th rotational axis.

FINE CARPENTRY AND FABRICATION
Joinery, lamination, bending, woodturning are all possible in our fully equipped woodshop, and our staff has years of experience in projects from complex wooden sculptures to small projects like plinths and painting panels.

PRECISION MACHINING AND METAL FABRICATION
Welding and metal forming, alongside lathe turning and milling of most metals, allows us to produce structural steel and aluminum components, custom tooling, and precise mechanical components.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING AND INTERACTIVE SCULPTURE
With the ability to produce precise mechanical components and our experience in kinetic and robotic sculpture, Powerhouse can develop projects in need of electronic, motorized, and computational based solutions.

NOVEL FABRICATION METHODS
We are especially excited to find new production methods combining tools and talents across all of our shops and talented staff, and to collaborate with artists to produce new techniques across our range of materials.
